in my head...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3g4ekwTd6Ig

Sue Anne played this song for me over the weekend and well...I love me some broadway music. What can I say, I like Celine Dion, ABBA, Broadway musicals, and other lame music.
While we are on the subject of cheesy music and Celine Dion, here's my FAVORITE song by her. I realize by now I've already lost Lisa and Julie and Patrick are right behind her, but I know at least Christa will click on this link below. The cheese factor is at a inexplicable level on this video and the chinese guy's hair is..is...just huge. But this song is so good!

So does anyone have any good music they want to recommend?

Michigan

We had such an awesome time in Michigan over the weekend. Major sister bonding, GREATWONDERFULSOHAPPY news from Christa, fun food, trips to the Bell kegerator for nice beer, sitting around chatting over tea with sisters, getting some quality time in with the Bell girls, staying up late watching Entourage, making fun of Jason for falling asleep during movies that he suggests we all stay up and watch, doing makeup, long walks around Ann Arbor, rearranging furniture, decorating suggestions, checking out the loads and loads of incredible fruit/vegetables at the farmers market, eating real concord grapes, getting a quick taste of Fall weather and having really sweet family time.
We got home late last night and I've been feeling so nostalgic all day today. I so wish I lived closer to my sisters. Could I live in California? What would that feel like? Life is so short and all that really matters is family and friends and I want to be as close as possible to all my special people.
I upload a *&%#% ton of pictures from the weekend. Scroll down to see a gazillion of them. Seriously there are a ton, you might have to click to the next page to see all of them.
p.s. - I got a 91% on my chemistry test. Booyah!

biking it

we rode our bikes down to the Riverside Arts Market today. it was so nice to get out on the bikes. it took us about 20+ minutes, where if we drove and looked for parking it probably might have taken the same amount of time. piper finally really seems to enjoy the bike carrier. she chilled in the back, read a book and looked at the trees as we peddled. the Arts Market even has a bike valet service to encourage people to bike. it was pretty sweet, we just pulled right up to the market and handed some guys our bikes in return for our valet stub.
i felt like a cute little yuppie family.

rant

I'm so annoyed with the news lately. It drives me insane how unfair/biased everything is. We have Pres. Carter saying that S.C. Rep. Wilson calling Obama a liar was a racist act. I agree it was in extremely poor taste, but what ever happened to freedom of speech? There are black and white people everywhere protesting Obama's health care initiative...are they racist too? No, they are just standing up for their beliefs.
And then on the other hand, you have Kayne West interrupting Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, taking the microphone out of her hand and proclaiming in front of the world (or whoever the heck watches the MTV VMA's anymore) that she didn't deserve the award, Beyonce did. Why is it that we have such a double standard that no one is calling the race card for that?
It kills me that we are even still talking about race in an age where we have a black president. Heck, they were even discussing the purpose of the NAACP a few months ago now that we have a black president.
And another thing about Rep. Wilson. I've heard all this chatter on the news about how abominable what he did was and how as a House of Representative member he needs to carry himself with more couth since he is a high ranking member of society. Oh my gawd, how are politicians high ranking members of society? Look at how many of them have extramarital affairs, arrests, drug problems, corruption... I mean, geez, the disgusting Governor of South Carolina left the country to go have an affair with his "soul mate" and made a mockery out of his family life and he still got to keep his job. Rep. Wilson yells out "you lie" - which I agree is wrong and I do not in any way agree with, but it was his right to do so through freedom of speech - and people are calling for him to step down.
The Kayne West and Rep. Wilson issues have just shown even more clearly how there is such a lack of respect for others in our society. It's so me-me-me. How can I let everyone know MY opinion? How can I let everyone know I am in control? Did you guys see the clip of the college football player who was mad that his team lost so he went over and sucker-punched a member of the opposing team, right in the face after he had taken off his helmet. When his fellow team members tried to restrain him, he started punching them too. Geesus, these are the people that kids look up to nowadays.
Ugh, it's depressing. I just hate the racism card. And I hate when it has a complete double standard. And I hate the lack of respect people have for others now. Okay, I'm stepping off of my soap box now.

...

So uh...yea. I don't have motivation to write anything. I need some topics. Lisa has been asking about our yard so yea...it is a big crap mine. It is HUGE and overgrown and really looks horrendous. The weekend we got back from Atlanta we had to hack the whole yard down. The grass was up to our knees, the weeds had overtaken every single flower bed, the caterpillars ate through our lush, beautiful passion fruit vine that covers the entire front of our garage (but they did leave behind a trail of beautiful butterflies that are all over), and an amazing amount of weeds (TALL TALL weeds) choked our garden beds so that you couldn't even see the soil.
Oh, and the craziest of all is that our circular driveway got overtaken by weeds and turned itself into a single lane driveway. We would have lost the entire driveway if Carol and Greg hadn't of moved our cars once or twice a week to make it look like we were there. Them driving just a few feet on the driveway kept a little bit of weeds from popping up. We decided to just go with it and let the grass take over on the front of the house and ditch the whole circular drive thing. It's looking good so far, I think it opens up the front of our house some.
I went to Home Depot yesterday to pick up seeds to start my Fall garden. I got carrots, 3 lettuce mixes, cucumbers, onions, bush beans and beets. I really want to try and plant them in two week windows, so I can try and prolong the growing season.
I want to badly to have a huge, lush, overflowing garden. It never quite works out that way. I wish I knew what I could do to improve it. I brought back a huge bag of seaweed from the beach and added that into my compost. I wanted an extra bag so I could use that to mulch with.

confession

I really like Celine Dion. Like so much so that I really want to download her Greatest Hits album.
